According to the Central Weather Bureau, on June 28, 2024, a southwest wind will affect the weather in Taiwan today. Despite mostly cloudy to sunny conditions, there will be significant thunderstorms in the afternoon. Before the rain, temperatures are expected to reach 32 to 36 degrees Celsius in various areas, with the possibility of 37 degrees in the greater Taipei area and nearby mountainous regions. Stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and beware of heatstroke. The weather bureau issued high-temperature warnings for 15 cities and counties, including Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, with the likelihood of reaching 36 degrees or more. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in northern and central Taiwan, with the possibility of heavy rainfall and severe weather. Air quality is generally good across different regions.
