In Taipei, a man surnamed Lin took advantage of his drunk female cousin by sexually assaulting her while she was asleep at her rental place in 2008. A few days later, he entered her room again, pinned her down, and touched her all over until she woke up and resisted. The victim endured the ordeal for 16 years before deciding to press charges. The Shilin District Prosecutor's Office indicted Lin on charges of opportune sexual intercourse. Lin admitted to the crimes, claiming the first time was consensual while the second was to test her, but stopped when she showed no interest. With the victim's testimony and social worker's confirmation, Lin was prosecuted for opportunistic sexual intercourse and attempted opportunistic sexual intercourse.
