Chevron Corporation is among 37 global energy firms contesting Libya's first oil and gas exploration tender since the 2011 conflict that ended Muammar Qaddafi's regime. This tender is critical for Libya, which holds Africa's largest oil reserves and aims to restore its oil production to 2 million barrels daily by 2030, following over a decade of instability. Contracts are expected to be awarded by the end of 2025, with Chevron vying for exploration rights on 22 offshore and onshore blocks.
