The UK new car market saw a 6.7% rise in registrations in June, totaling 191,316 units, marking the best June since 2019, although it remains below pre-Covid levels. Fleet activity drove this growth, with electric vehicle registrations significantly increasing to capture 48.5% of the market share. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) noted that, despite positive trends, demand is largely reliant on industry discounts and government incentives are essential to further advance the electric vehicle transition.
