Carbon capture firm 1PointFive has signed an agreement with Microsoft to sell 500,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide removal credits over six years. 1PointFive, a unit of Occidental Petroleum, aims to assist Microsoft in achieving its target of being carbon negative by 2030. The credits will come from 1PointFive's STRATOS facility in Texas, capable of capturing 500,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. This agreement follows AT&T's similar commitment earlier this year, highlighting the growing trend of companies purchasing carbon credits to reduce emissions and become more environmentally friendly.
