During the 35th Golden Melody Awards in Taipei, the band No Party for Cao Dong won Best Band award after 7 years, while also receiving Best Mandarin Album, Album of the Year, and 3 awards in total. MC HotDog won Best Mandarin Male Singer, Shi Shi won Best Mandarin Female Singer after 3 nominations, and Xu Jun won Best Composer and Best Arranger. Other winners included O-Kai Singing Group for Best Vocal Group, and Makav Zheng'ai for Best Indigenous Language Album. The night also featured performances by various artists and unexpected moments, like MC HotDog's microphone failure and heartfelt acceptance speeches.
