The 2024 Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC) kicked off with the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier leading the charge, showcasing F-35 advanced fighter jets and uniting naval forces from 29 countries. The USS Carl Vinson, hosting the F-35 Lightning II fighter jets, is described as a self-sufficient mobile airport and attack platform, known for its rapid response capabilities during global crises. The exercises from today until August 1 involve 40 surface ships, 3 submarines, 14 ground forces, and over 150 aircraft from countries like the US, Japan, India, the UK, and more.
