According to a recent internal poll by the Kuomintang, nearly 40% of New Taipei residents support Lee Si-chuan running for office. Looking ahead to the 2026 local elections, parties are already strategizing for the mayor's seat, particularly in New Taipei where the successor to Mayor Hou Yu-yi is a key focus. One poll shows that Taipei's Deputy Mayor Lee Si-chuan garners nearly 40% support within the Kuomintang and can compete equally with the Democratic Progressive Party in potential scenarios. If discrepancies arise, Huang Kuo-chang only secures 13% support, while Lee Si-chuan leads with 37.26% within the Kuomintang. On the Democratic Progressive Party side, legislator Su Chiao-hui leads with 26.35% support. With the likelihood of a three-way race, Lee Si-chuan could secure 33-35% support and beat his competitors, whereas Huang Kuo-chang would trail at 13%.
