21-Year-Old Main Suspect and 5 Others Arrested for Fatal Beating of New Taipei Male, Surrenders at Noon, Motive Revealed

In the early hours of June 10, 2024, a group of five young individuals, with an average age of only 21, were pursued by the police for fatally beating a 19-year-old man in New Taipei City. The victim, Chen, was first attacked in Xindian District before being abandoned in front of his boss's house. The main suspect, a 21-year-old man surnamed Wu, turned himself in at the Miaoli Toufen Police Station at noon today, revealing that the incident stemmed from a debt dispute. Chen succumbed to injuries inflicted by a group of assailants after buying supper and was abandoned in an alleyway. Wu has been detained for further questioning.
