A case of a Filipino migrant worker, Romeo, stabbing his girlfriend Lisa to death in Tainan in 1998 has been dismissed due to the expiration of the 25-year statute of limitations. Romeo fled the scene, leaving the authorities unable to apprehend him. The detectives regret not being able to solve the case sooner, as with advancements in forensic science and information, the perpetrator could have been captured within a short period of time if the incident had occurred today.
