The first batch of comprehensive income tax refunds for 2023 will be credited on July 31, with 3.43 million eligible taxpayers in Taiwan receiving a total of 55.92 billion, the highest in history, averaging 16,000 per refund. The refund process is divided into three batches each year, with the first batch starting on July 31, followed by October 31 for the second batch, and January 20 of the following year for the last batch. Taxpayers who meet the qualifications for the first batch of refunds include those who file online or via telephone confirmation of tax calculations before May 10, while manual filers will have to wait for the second batch to receive their refunds.
