The 'Riding Madam' deity in the Chihshan Longhu Temple in Liujia, Tainan, over 300 years old and considered a national treasure, recently underwent a significant transformation in appearance after being temporarily moved to Danshui and returned. The temple officials attribute the deity's altered appearance to the humid weather conditions in Danshui combined with fluctuating temperatures, denying claims of a swap. The deity's features appeared distorted and discolored, sparking concerns among worshipers and internet users. However, the temple assures that it is the same golden deity but affected by the environmental conditions during its relocation.
