The 35th Golden Melody Awards ceremony took place at Taipei Arena with 148 entries competing for 27 awards. Sun Shengxi won her first Best Mandarin Female Singer award, while MC HotDog claimed his first Best Mandarin Male Singer award. Grasshopper Party won big with Best Band, Best Mandarin Album, and Album of the Year. Makav, a 21-year-old indigenous girl, won Best New Artist and Best Indigenous Language Album.
