A tragic incident occurred in Cidade Ocidental, a city in the southern region of Brasilia, on June 20, 2024, where a 5-month-old baby, Isis da Silva Sobrinho, was left unattended at home by her parents for an hour and was fatally attacked by their hungry pet dog. The parents have been arrested for manslaughter and failure to control a dangerous animal, as investigations continue. The dog, which had been with the family for 5 years and had never shown aggression towards anyone before, was suspected to have attacked the baby due to extreme hunger as it was not fed on the day of the incident.
