In Neihu district of Taipei, 655 households experienced a sudden power outage at 6:06 pm, affecting areas like Ruiguang Road, Jiangnan Street, Yangguang Street, and Ruihu Street. Taipower confirmed that the reason was an 'underground cable malfunction', but they were able to restore power to 65% of the affected households (430 households) within 3 minutes and all households by 6:50 pm. In another incident, 786 households in New Taipei City and Taipei City also experienced a power outage due to a transformer system being struck by lightning, resulting in power interruption which was restored by 8:25 pm.
