A 68-year-old man surnamed Chen committed murder in Taipei's Wanhua district before fleeing to Hsinchu, where he surrendered. Chen, who had shaved his head and was wearing a winter jacket, waited outside a convenience store and called the police, confessing to the murder. He was ultimately arrested and taken back to the police station, where the investigation into the homicide is ongoing. The murder reportedly stemmed from a dispute over debts between the victim and a tenant, with Chen fatally stabbing the 78-year-old victim in a fit of rage.
