Following the earthquake on April 6th, Taroko National Park in Hualien County suffered severe damage, with an estimated reconstruction cost of 3 billion NTD. The reconstruction is planned to be completed in three phases over a 7-year period. While less affected areas like Buluowan, Jiuqudong, and Tianxiang might partially reopen by the end of the year, severely damaged areas like Shakadang and Yanzikou require more time for evaluation and planning. The rebuilding process includes emergency repairs, enhancing safety measures, and improving recreational facilities. The government aims for timely completion of the reconstruction as instructed by Premier Su.
