In Taipei City's Zhongzheng District, a 71-year-old woman was caught stealing beef ribs worth around 500 NT dollars for the fifth time in a month by store clerks who kept a close eye on her every move. The woman, surnamed Liu, thought she could escape unnoticed by sneaking the beef ribs into her bag in the cold storage area, but both surveillance cameras and vigilant store clerks were aware of her actions. Upon her fifth attempt, she was caught red-handed and arrested by the police. Despite being a retiree with a house in the district, Liu repeatedly shoplifted and even tried to reconcile with the store afterward, resulting in the store staff finally filing a police report due to her unrepentant attitude. The police suggested businesses install surveillance cameras to prevent theft, and advised the public to pay honestly while shopping to avoid legal consequences.
