Cathay United Bank released the first 'Anti-Scam Behavior Survey Report', revealing that 75% of people have received scam messages within three months, with 31% having fallen victim to scams, meaning approximately 1 in every 3 individuals have been scammed. Fake investment scams are the most prevalent, accounting for close to 60%. Shockingly, half of the scam victims do not report the incidents. It was found that many victims do not report scams out of fear of negative labeling, lack of knowledge on how to report, or distrust in the effectiveness of reporting.
