According to the statistics from the National Health Insurance Administration, in 2024, the total amount spent on NHI-reimbursed drugs was 243.1 billion NT dollars, with the highest number of users being for the painkiller containing acetaminophen, used by 8.98 million people, ranking first. The increase in drug expenses is attributed to factors such as the aging population, sedentary lifestyles, incorrect postures, and insufficient physical activity, leading to an increase in the use of painkillers as the most commonly consumed drug in Taiwan.
