In support of the co-production of the 8K documentary 'Sacred Forest: Alishan Forest Railway Journey' by PTS and NHK, the Forestry Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture provided the Shay No. 21 two-cylinder steam locomotive restored earlier this year, as well as the Fukusen carriage made of cypress wood. Both organizations had to balance perspectives and angles during the international collaboration. PTS producer Shih Yueh-wen facilitated the co-production and participated throughout the process, emphasizing local human stories. Differences in narrating style and pacing between NHK and PTS required communication and compromise, such as focusing on mountainous changes and railway designs adapting to steep terrain. Practical experience was crucial in achieving stable footage from the 8K camera and smooth aerial shots from the 6K drone, ensuring viewer comfort.
