A Welsh couple, Bernard and Ann McDonagh, were sentenced to prison for fraud after repeatedly dining at restaurants and leaving without paying for pricey meals, including three-course dinners and expensive cuts of meat. The judge described their actions as driven by greed and highlighted their exploitation of their children in the scheme. The couple, who had previous convictions and used aliases, stiffed multiple establishments of nearly 1,170 pounds ($1,485) before being caught due to images posted on social media. Ann received a 12-month sentence for additional charges, including shoplifting, while Bernard was sentenced to eight months.
