A synthetic drug, called kush, is devastating the youth in Sierra Leone, with limited healthcare services available to help. A community in Freetown started a volunteer-run treatment center using harsh measures like chaining people to prevent them from escaping. President Julius Maada Bio has declared a war on kush, recognizing it as an epidemic and a national threat. The drug's changing composition poses challenges for intervention, leading to severe consequences like addiction, health issues, and family disintegration in Sierra Leone.
