ABB, the Swiss engineering group, reported its highest-ever quarterly order intake, fueled by a 37% surge in orders from the United States and increased demand for products supporting data centres. The company’s core operating income rose to $1.71 billion, surpassing expectations, while revenue climbed to $8.90 billion. CEO Morten Wierod highlighted the growing demand for electricity across various industries, not just data centres, although ABB's robotics business faced challenges due to trade uncertainties.
