Accident During Test Flight of Tianlong-3 Rocket in Henan Causes Explosion and Fire in Mountainous Area

On June 30, 2024, in Gongyi City, Henan Province, China, a rocket from the Beijing Tianbing Technology Company, Tianlong-3, experienced an accident during a test flight resulting in an explosion and fire in a mountainous area. Despite the incident, no casualties were reported, and emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene. The rocket fell and disintegrated in the mountains, away from populated areas. Tianlong-3 is China's first large liquid-fueled commercial aerospace rocket, scheduled for its maiden flight in July 2024, aiming to achieve over 30 commercial launches annually within three years after the first flight.
