In the Kang-You-KY case, former Chairman Huang Wenlie and other conspirators were sentenced for embezzling 20.1 billion NT dollars, harming thousands of investors. Two accountants involved in the case were sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Ernst & Young expressed regret and will appeal after reviewing the verdict, hoping for justice to clear their names. The Taipei District Court also handed down severe sentences to other individuals involved in the case, including former legislator Wu Guangxun and company executives. Ernst & Young stated that the verdict did not involve the signing accountants directly and emphasized the potential impact on the accounting industry and securities market stability.
