Acidity off the charts! Judge makes harsh comments on 1-dollar fraud case

Reported 11 months ago

A man surnamed Wang in Taiwan was acquitted by the Yunlin District Court in a fraud case where he was accused of unknowingly being involved as an accomplice in providing personal information to a scam group. The judge criticized the prosecution, questioning why they would report a transfer of only 1 dollar to Wang's account. The judge expressed disbelief that someone would immediately notice such a small amount and raise an alarm, sarcastically suggesting that only prosecutors would. The court found insufficient evidence to prove Wang's awareness of his account being used for fraudulent activities, leading to his acquittal.
