At the recent Taipei Film Festival, the film 'The Old Fox' won multiple awards but no actors were recognized. Actor Chen Muyi criticized the director Xiao Yachuan for not acknowledging the political aspect and failing to thank the actors during his three award acceptance speeches. Despite the film winning Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and other awards, actors Bai Runyin and Liu Yier were not awarded. Chen emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contribution of actors in a film and quoted George Orwell's view that the idea of art being apolitical itself reflects a political attitude.
