As a response to the post-pandemic era and the new normal in healthcare, the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan has amended the regulations on remote medical consultations to include 5 new groups, such as chronic disease care and end-of-life care, allowing doctors to provide medical services via video and easing the prescription process. Starting on July 1st, an estimated 2.47 million people are expected to benefit from this expansion. Patients can now have consultations through video calls and receive prescriptions electronically, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
