Experts recommend adding an extra step to brewing coffee to avoid increasing cholesterol levels. It's a common ritual for many working individuals to have a cup of coffee in the morning, but excessive consumption can be burdensome on the body. A recent sharing by kidney specialist Dr. Jiang Shoushan revealed that he usually encourages patients to drink more coffee because studies show that it's beneficial for kidney health, reducing proteinuria. He also suggests adding an additional step to brewing coffee for best results. Furthermore, using soy milk instead of cow's milk is advised as the safest option given its low risk of harm. Research also indicates that adding sugar and milk to coffee can degrade its health benefits. According to endocrinologist Dr. Cai Mingjie, consuming 2.5 to 4.5 cups of coffee daily can lower overall mortality, cancer mortality, and cardiovascular mortality rates, even with sugared coffee showing positive effects up to a certain limit.
