In response to the widespread issue of landfill mountains in Taiwan, where the government seemed helpless, Taoyuan City suggested cross-district cooperation, while Hsinchu and Nantou Counties decided to build their own incineration plants for waste disposal. Yunlin County plans to transform into an agricultural waste renewable energy center, aiming to flatten existing landfill mountains by 2026. The Ministry of the Environment expressed the need for centralized and local cooperation to tackle the garbage problem, with a goal to resolve the issue of exposed garbage piles within four years.
