Wong Yu-lan/ Taipei Report, June 30, 2024, 4:10 PM: Getac, a subsidiary of Getac Technology under Shin Kong Investment Control (3005), continues to enhance its rugged computer product line solutions aimed at industries like defense, public utilities, manufacturing, and oil & gas industries by introducing new rugged tablets with integrated or independent GPUs for improved processing power and graphic computing. Due to the steady growth in the rugged computer business and the recovery in the PC industry, Getac's combined revenue for the first five months of the year has reached NT$14.605 billion, a year-on-year increase of over 6%. The company's chairman, Huang Ming-han, emphasized the importance of meeting the increasing digital application requirements in various work environments for professionals in traditional industries undergoing digital transformation. Getac has launched new products like the Getac F110 and K120 equipped with Intel's 13th Gen Core i5/i7 processors, Intel UHD GPU, Iris Xe GPU, and advanced features like 1,200 nits screen, Wi-Fi 6E AX211, dual SIM card design with eSIM technology for 4G/5G connectivity. The company also introduced the industry's first rugged AI laptop in the second quarter, with plans to incorporate AI computing into new CPU products, aiming to have AI-enabled rugged computer products account for 50% of sales by the fourth quarter of this year and 50% by next year. Betting on the growth of AI PC themes to stimulate market demand for rugged computers and PC industries, Getac's optimistic outlook targets a growth rate of 7-12% and plans to continue advancing its operations, as reported by Commercial Times.
