Advantech (3088), a leading industrial computer manufacturer, is actively developing 'service automation' solutions focusing on healthcare, retail, and customization sectors, expected to be a major growth driver this year. The company's spokesperson mentioned the increasing demand for customization services in the industrial computer industry, with the post-pandemic European and American markets showing a significant rise in service automation needs. By acquiring a major stake in the intelligent parking system provider Bor-Chen Technology last December, Advantech aims to enhance hardware-software integration for their service automation solutions. The company anticipates significant growth in smart retail and networking this year, with stability to slight growth in industrial automation. While the medical and gaming sectors may face a decline compared to last year, a significant recovery is expected in the second half, supporting a slight overall growth in performance for the year, potentially achieving a new historical high. Furthermore, the market is focusing on the development of AI applications, particularly in generative AI and edge AI. Advantech believes the utilization of generative AI, especially in service automation areas such as electronic displays in department stores, is more likely to be adopted soon. Edge AI projects with clients are mainly in the proof of concept stage, with significant revenue contributions expected around 2026, excluding mature technologies like computer vision and object recognition.
