African dust from the Sahara Desert is affecting regions in the United States and Puerto Rico due to extreme weather conditions. Scientists reveal that a massive dust storm spanning over 5000 kilometers will cross the entire Atlantic Ocean and impact Florida and Texas within a week. The dust clouds may contain harmful minerals, viruses, and bacteria, causing respiratory issues for people with asthma and other conditions. Puerto Rico faces high temperature warnings with heat indexes over 46 degrees Celsius, while NASA estimates that 1.82 billion tons of dust leave Africa annually. The phenomenon may result in respiratory problems such as coughing, asthma, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
