Reported 11 months ago

On June 18, Taiwanese fishermen in the Taiwan Strait spotted a 094A nuclear-powered submarine from the People's Liberation Army Navy floating on the sea surface; then on June 20, another PLA Navy warship, a 052C destroyer with hull number 153, was sighted near the Taiwan Strait. The warship belongs to the East Sea Fleet of the PLA and is equipped with the 'Chinese Aegis' combat system. Fishermen speculate the intentional presence of PLA warships. The destroyer Xi'an, the sixth 052C destroyer in the PLA Navy, was built in 2012 and is armed with a variety of weaponry including anti-aircraft missiles and anti-ship missiles.
