On June 24, 2024, the Legislative Yuan rejected the reconsideration motion of the Parliament Powers Act, marking the end of the legislative battle. The new administration's first month in office led to the resolution of the Parliament Powers Act controversy, with the Blue-White camp securing a victory while the Green camp reinforced its ties with civil society. Both ruling and opposition parties entered a period of consolidating their legislative strategies. The administration identified a list of 'legal landmines' to warn Green legislators to avoid stepping into opposition-laid traps. The Blue camp aimed to reduce conflicts by postponing contentious bills and prioritizing consensus-based livelihood bills. Additionally, they strengthened internal controls, requiring all party-proposed bills to have internal consensus rather than unilateral decisions by party executives. President Lai Ching-te highlighted the need for careful evaluation and discussion of laws to prevent adverse consequences on constitutional operation and people's rights.
