On June 27, 2024, Tsai Wen-che reported at 6:52 PM that most parts of Taiwan are mainly cloudy to clear today. Under the influence of a southerly wind, sporadic brief showers or thunderstorms are expected in the southeastern regions and Hengchun Peninsula. Due to the weakening of the Pacific high-pressure system, the range of afternoon thunderstorms will expand to central and northern areas, northeast regions, eastern areas, and other mountainous regions, with higher chances of rainfall and the possibility of heavy rain. People are advised to be cautious of intense weather phenomena like short-lived heavy rains, lightning, and strong gusts, and to carry umbrellas when going out. With temperatures ranging from 32 to 35 degrees and possibly exceeding 36 degrees in some western regions, precautions against sunburn and sufficient hydration are recommended to prevent heat injuries. Certain counties and cities are under an orange warning for high temperatures, while others are under yellow warnings, urging the public to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, enhance sun protection, stay hydrated, and maintain indoor ventilation to prevent heat-related illnesses.
