According to TV News Taiwan on June 8, 2024, at 7:34 pm, due to the convergence of a front and southwestern winds, there will be sporadic short-term showers or thunderstorms in the central and southern regions today, with a probability of localized short-term showers or thunderstorms in northern Taiwan as well. Mountainous areas and regions like Yilan, Hualien, and Taipei are expected to receive heavy rainfall. The Central Weather Bureau warns of significant afternoon thunderstorms with potential for short-duration heavy rain and local heavy rain, especially in mountainous areas with recent loose soil. Temperatures range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius at night and in the early morning, and daytime highs are expected to be between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius, causing muggy conditions when dry; individuals are advised to stay hydrated when outdoors. Weather forecast for all of Taiwan on 6/9. Meteorological warnings predict unstable weather conditions in the central and southern regions today, while from Monday (10) onwards, the southwestern winds ahead of the front will bring warm and humid conditions to these areas, leading to sporadic showers or thunderstorms. The front will slightly move north by Tuesday to Saturday (11th to 15th), but southwest winds will intensify, resulting in episodes of short-lived thunderstorms in the central and southern regions facing the wind, possibly accompanied by brief heavy rain, lightning, and strong gusts. Daytime temperatures will be relatively hot when it is not raining, with the reminder of potential heat bursts in the southeastern region from Wednesday to Saturday (12th to 15th). During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday until Wednesday (12th), Kinmen and Matsu may experience low clouds or local fog that could impact visibility, so travelers should monitor flight information. Clear rainfall seen today in northern regions, Yilan and Hualien, and mountainous areas.
