A survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report in 2023 and 2024 found that 93% of U.S. adults aged 55 and older consider aging in place as a crucial goal, with 49% willing to incorporate assistive technologies into their homes to achieve this. The study revealed a growing support for aging in place, with technologies like medical or health-related mobile apps, smart-home assistive technologies, and wearable health trackers being identified as beneficial. While some barriers such as affordability and independence concerns exist, the majority of respondents agreed that these technologies enhance their quality of life by providing independence, safety, and improved health.
