Agricultural Agency Admits Administrative Oversight in Egg Imports

Reported about 1 year ago

The Agricultural Agency of Taiwan admitted to an administrative oversight in handling the cold storage rental fees and transportation costs of imported eggs not following procurement regulations, prompting them to voluntarily recover over 50% of the subsidies provided. This issue is the first investigation item by the opposition party under the newly effective parliamentary reform law. Additionally, the government is considering raising the travel advisory for mainland China in response to recent measures against Taiwan, and Taiwan has approved a trial to employ up to a thousand Indian migrant workers mainly in the manufacturing sector, marking the first direct government-to-government hiring arrangement.
