Agricultural Department Backpedals! Livestock Association Imports Eggs, Misuse Subsidies of 3.68 Million to Be Recovered

Reported 9 months ago

The controversy over imported eggs continues to heat up, with the revelation of a shortage of imported eggs, and the Livestock Association acquiring an import license. The Deputy Minister of the Agricultural Department initially stated no issues were found during the investigation, but later reversed course, indicating administrative flaws in the Livestock Association's actions. As a result, the Agricultural Department is reclaiming over 50% of the subsidies granted for cold storage and transportation costs related to imported eggs, totaling 3.68 million. Allegations of improper procurement practices and lack of oversight have raised questions about the department's relationship with the former chairman and prompted a transfer of the case to investigative authorities.
