Agriculture Ministry Not Endorsing 'Pet Communicators' Due to Lack of Scientific Evidence, Plans to Develop Operating Guidelines

Reported 7 months ago

According to an FTNN news report, the Ministry of Agriculture recently announced results from a national survey estimating that 28.3% of households in Taiwan own pets, highlighting the emerging trend of 'pet communicators' in response to pets becoming important family companions. However, Agriculture Minister Chen Junji expressed skepticism due to the lack of scientific evidence supporting pet communication, stating that the Ministry will not endorse it. Moving forward, guidelines will be developed to regulate pet-related businesses to address inappropriate practices under the guise of pets. This decision was made during an Economic Committee meeting in the Legislative Yuan where issues surrounding pet communication were raised by legislators.
