Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury expressed optimism regarding ongoing discussions to finalize the acquisition of part of U.S. aerostructures supplier Spirit AeroSystems, despite acknowledging significant industrial challenges ahead. Spirit, facing financial distress, has agreed to pay Airbus $559 million as part of the deal, which aims to stabilize both companies after a turbulent period. Faury noted the complexities involved in integrating Spirit, stressing that while progress is being made, the transition will be difficult.
