Airbus to Receive $559 Million Compensation in Spirit Aero Deal

Airbus announced its plan to acquire certain loss-making activities from Spirit AeroSystems as part of a wider break-up between Airbus and Boeing. The deal involves Airbus taking over work at loss-making plants supplying key parts for its A220 and A350 jets. Airbus will be compensated with $559 million from Spirit for taking on the work, with Airbus paying a nominal sum of $1 for the assets. The deal aims to ensure stability in the supply chain for Airbus' commercial aircraft programs.
