Global travel demand is rising, creating a scenario where airlines are facing labor and aircraft shortages. However, the International Air Transport Association predicts that in 2024, global airfares for round-trip tickets may reduce. Experts suggest that ticket prices might decrease on routes where various airlines are competing, such as Seattle, along with routes where low-cost carriers are entering the competition, like Busan, Seoul, and Bangkok. The prediction indicates that airfares might lower in 2024, which marks the first decrease since 2021.
