Alabama approved a medical marijuana program in 2021, but patients are still waiting for access due to ongoing legal disputes over key licenses required for cultivation and sale. Although some licensed growers have mature marijuana plants ready, products cannot be sold until the legal issues are resolved, leaving patients frustrated and dependent on successful litigation to determine when they can access medical cannabis.
