In the NBA Finals Game 2 on June 9, 2024, despite Luka Doncic scoring 32 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds for a triple-double, the Celtics led by Jayson Tatum's 18 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds along with Jaylen Brown's 21 points, secured a 105-98 victory over the Mavericks to take a 2-0 lead. With Paul Pierce in attendance, the Celtics' Jrue Holiday stepped up with 26 points to defensively contain Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Despite a late push from the Mavericks, the Celtics held on to win. Game 3 will be in Dallas next.
