According to SET News on June 12, 2024, at 10:53 pm, the Meteorological Bureau continued to issue a special report on heavy rain at 10:30, mentioning the vigorous development of a convection cloud system resulting in short-term intense rainfall. There is a probability of localized heavy rain occurring in areas south of Yunlin today with warnings for thunder and strong gusts. Counties and cities under the heavy rain alert include Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. The southwest wind on the 13th brings warm and humid air to Taiwan, leading to occasional brief showers or thunderstorms in regions south of Miaoli. The temperature is expected to reach 32 to 35 degrees Celsius, rising to around 36 degrees in parts of Greater Taipei and Hualien Rift Valley. In the southeastern regions, there may be occurrences of foehn winds. Individuals are advised to stay hydrated, apply sunscreen, and be cautious of heatstroke. Coastal areas in northern Taiwan, Matsu, Green Island, and Orchid Island may experience strong gusts of 8 to 9 Beaufort scale. Safety precautions are advised for seaside activities, and those traveling to Kinmen and Matsu should stay updated on flight information due to possible low clouds or fog affecting visibility.
