During last year's presidential election, late prominent writer Li Ao's daughter, Li Wen, accused vice presidential candidate Lai Pei-Hsia of violating the Psychologist Act and modifying website content. In response, Huang Shiu-Xiu, spokesperson for Guo Taiming's office, commented that 'she seems a bit unclear about the situation.' After investigation, Taipei District Prosecutor's Office found insufficient evidence for defamation charges against Huang. Meanwhile, Lai Pei-Hsia, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential race and returned to her profession as a mind-body therapist, was fined for violating the Psychologist Act. The case involving criminal law aspects has been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.
