An alleged corruption case in the procurement of ballistic protective gear by the Ministry of National Defense's Armaments Bureau was reported by Taoyuan prosecutors. Colonel Lin from the Armaments Bureau and three vendors were detained on suspicion of corruption, violations of procurement laws, and fraud. The Taoyuan District Court rejected the prosecutors' request for detention citing lack of jurisdiction, leading to an appeal by the prosecution. The Ministry of National Defense stated their full cooperation with the judicial investigation and commitment to lawful proceedings.
